Yellow bird wakes up with only a Double Cherry (basically the worst) so once you get a Double Cherry, tap only once to get the one seed and then wake up the Yellow bird. The birds only wake up with cherries, and as everyone’s mentioned, you get very few items from the birds before they go back to sleep, so you’re basically stuck with sleeping birds until you can make cherries. The seeds are key to making the Blooming Tree (tree with pink flowers) so you can get petals that make cherries. I usually end up trashing a lot of my berries for the one coin.
IMO there is literally no reason to tap on the Basket of Blueberries for more blueberries. So you end up with way too many berries while you’re trying to get cherries to wake up the birds. The final merge items for the berries (Basket of Blueberries and Basket of Strawberries) only wake up the Bluebird and Redbird. It spits out Blueberries, Strawberries, and Seeds.
The Flowerbed is similar to the Mailbox in the last version. After a few days of playing, my current strategy is focused on getting cherries.
